Restoration Fund

Our chapel building is now 110 years old and our surveyor has identified the need for restoration work to preserve the building for future generations.  The building is listed by Dudley MBC as one of local historical importance and as such the work has to be undertaken by a specialist conservator, this means that whilst Bethel has to incur extra costs due to the exacting standards insisted upon by the local conservation officer we are not able to access the funding that is available for listed buildings.

Therefore, we have appointed Val Woodhouse as projects co-ordinator to help to raise the funds; initially £23,000 was needed for the first stage of the work to be carried out to the façade of the chapel.

Val has been working hard on various fund-raising projects, such as applying for grants and donations, car boot sales, recycling mobile phones, eBay sales, auctions, a Silent Auction and a sponsored 17k walk from Kinver Lock to Stourport Canal Basin.

The fundraising for Phase One of the Restoration Project has now been completed and Malvern House Restoration have completely finished the front.

Phase Two will cover the car park side of the chapel, and fundraising is ongoing to enable the work to be undertaken as soon as possible after the completion of the front of church.

Anyone who would like to make a donation can do so at any time
